Environmental Risk Management

Chastain-Skillman's professional geologists and environmental scientists have conducted hundreds of environmental site assessments, contamination assessments, and hydrogeologic studies in association with municipal landfills, chemical and fuel storage/spill sites, hazardous waste generation sites, and agricultural operations. This work has involved monitor well design/construction; soil, sediment, and water sampling; aquifer testing/analysis; geophysical studies; ground water flow and contaminant transport modeling; risk/exposure analysis; development and implementation of ground water monitoring programs; and hydraulic capacity evaluations for effluent re-use.

Chastain-Skillman's professional engineers and geologists also design and manage site rehabilitation projects which have included the removal and proper disposal of tanks and contaminated soil/ground water; passive ground water remediation via natural attenuation processes; active remediation utilizing groundwater extraction/treatment, vacuum extraction/air sparging, and/or bioremediation technologies; and utilization of engineering and/or institutional controls to prevent human exposure.
