Our clients' success is due in large part to our engineers' understanding that today's complexity, expense and regulation of development and construction require a higher order of engineering services. We have extensive experience in applying innovative, economical solutions. Doing it right the first time, on time, and within budget constraints is the standard by which we measure our success.
To read about several of our engineering departments, select from the following:

Diversity is the key word among our civil projects currently in design or under construction. Just a sampling of these include: Highland City Town Center, a new Publix anchored shopping/business center on HWY 98 at Clubhouse Road in Highland City, FL; the recently completed relocation of Main Street in downtown Lakeland at Lake Mirror; and site engineering for the new dormitories under construction at Florida Southern College on Lake Hollingsworth in Lakeland, FL.
Also recently completed are: a beautiful new 5-plex softball/baseball facility in Sebring, FL, which includes additional soccer facilities and a central clubhouse/scorekeeping facility designed by Chastain-Skillman’s in-house Architect; the design for Phase II of the Sebring Parkway has been completed; and the outstanding shopping mall in south Lakeland, Lakeside Village, has now been in operation for almost one full year, while surrounding out-parcels continue to develop. From roadways and industrial development, to parks and residential development, the civil department continues to offer our full range of in-house services.

The environmental department is engaged in a variety of major projects. The construction of a new wastewater treatment facility and collection system for the City of Frostproof, FL is underway. We are currently in the design phase for a major expansion of the Sandhill Road Water Reclamation Facility in Kissimmee, FL. A major, fast-track force main project in Auburndale, FL has been completed to assist in the expansion of the Minute Maid juice plant. Due to existing infrastructure, pipe-bursting technology was used for this project. The Allred WWTP in Auburndale is being upgraded (construction on-going) to provide effluent to Calpine Energy. A Design/Build project with Indian River Industrial Contractors is underway at Blacks Ford WWTP for JEA near Jacksonville, FL. And finally, water use permitting and water system expansions for Polk County, FL are in design.

The Structural Engineering Department has extensive experience in the many problems that are faced by our clients. Building Code regulations often change from one year to the next as well as from one geographic area to another. To keep abreast of these changes, Chastain-Skillman's philosophy of "Continuous Learning" keeps our staff knowledgeable on the many new codes, techniques, and materials within our engineering field.
The Structural Engineering staff serves as consultants providing analysis, design, and inspections for projects in commercial, public, industrial, institutional, educational, and marine construction. From hurricane damage issues, to European style bridges, to new building construction, our Structural staff is rich in experience to apply to your project.
